Since graduating from Humber Colleges Retail Floristry program in 1997 I have had my eye out for organic flowers. Having many years experience in organics, natural food stores and vegetarian restaurants, it was a logical step to want to design with organic and fair trade flowers. In the past few years there has been an increasing number of organic products on the market. Why not flowers? Before Valentines Day 2003 a newspaper article on fair trade flowers caught my eye. With some research I found that certified organic flowers were available year round. From this the idea, Eco Flora was born. Now is the right time to bring ecologically grown flowers to your table. My Mother’s Bloomers started in Halifax in 1992, on the busy Spring Garden Road. After ten years, we moved our store to Spring Garden Place, across the street, where we love being neighbours with some of the finest merchants in the city.

We have a great team of floral designers and consultants here. Having a combined experience of over 30 years, our work has been featured on local and national television, as well as in many magazines and newspapers. We have done work for local and international celebrities such as Mary Walsh, the Rankin family, Rod Stewart, and Celine Dion, and have designed florals for the Royal Family, the 2006 Juno Awards, and also for the G-7 Summit held here in Halifax.
